Management
The Management Committee of the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research is comprised of:
- all principle investigators (academic members of staff from The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences), and
- two representatives from each industrial consortium member (one from each of the pre-clinical and clinical areas).
The Management Committee meets once every 6 months to:
- define, prioritise and monitor the progress of the research programmes,
- review staff appointments, and
- assume control of finance to ensure that funds are used appropriately.
Focus Group Meetings
Focus Group Meetings offer a forum for open discussion among the members of each research area. The staff of CAPKR present detailed descriptions of their work to the industrial consortium members who share the same research interests. After hearing suggestions for further progress, the feedback from members helps CAPKR to identify which routes are most relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Following these meetings, senior academic staff provide in-depth progress reports to the Management Committee.
Annual Research Meeting
A broad overview of the research activities of the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research is presented to all members in the summer of every year. Senior industrial consortium members are invited to introduce each session of oral presentations from the staff of CAPKR. The posters that are displayed by the staff, students and industrial members encourage dialogue in all areas of research.
