PhD Pharmacy Practice
About me…
I did a four-year MPharm degree and a pre-registration year. After graduation I started to work as a pharmacist in different healthcare environments. I have always been interested in research therefore after working for a while I decided to come to Manchester to do my PhD.
Why Manchester?
I visited the University of Manchester to see what they had to offer. I was impressed with the friendliness of the School and its excellent reputation for research, so after that the choice was easy.
What drives your research?
I always think that my work will benefit someone, somewhere. Even if it's only a case of further research being done on top of mine, it will be rewarding. My interest in the subject carries me through because I feel as though I'm always learning. There's something different every single day.
What next?
I'd like to continue with research but combine this with working as a practising pharmacist or maybe even work for a large pharmaceutical company. That's the great thing about doing a PhD, it's opened up things that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.
