Research Assessment Exercise 2008

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of the UK’s leading centres for pharmacy research with 95% of its work classed as internationally significant in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).

World leading research

Furthermore, 70% of the School’s overall research activity was rated ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’, placing the School second in the country for research quality. This demonstrates the School’s consistent excellence in research following our 5* rating in RAE 2001.

This outstanding achievement in the RAE exercise, together with the excellent outcomes of the most recent Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) review of Teaching and Learning in the School, means that students choosing to study Pharmacy at The University of Manchester can be assured they will experience the benefits of outstanding teaching and learning, in a consistently high quality, research-led environment.
