Research activities
The quality of prescribing has been a long-term interest of the group, resulting in the development of a set of readily applicable criteria to assess the appropriateness of long-term prescribing. Evaluation is now being undertaken to investigate the impact of electronic prescribing in secondary care on prescribing errors. The developing roles of, and constraints on, new prescribers, ie nurses and pharmacists, are also being explored.
