Biography
Amin joined the University of Manchester in December 2009 as a Professor of Systems Pharmacology at the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Manchester.
Previously Amin held a chair in Systems Pharmacology at the University of Sheffield. He joined the University of Sheffield as Research Assistant to Professor Geoff Tucker in 1996 before progressing to Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader and Full Professorship posts in 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2007, respectively. As the Director of Scientific R and D at Simcyp Limited, he has led a team of 27 scientists working on extrapolation of in vitro data on drug metabolism to predict in vivo pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in “virtual patient populations”. Professor Rostami also leads an MSc Distance Learning Course on Modelling and Simulation in Drug Development.
