Research

I currently work in Dr Andrew McBain's research group.   My research concerns the physiology and ecology of oral biofilms and their responses to antimicrobial agents.  I employ a variety of methods, using biofilm models, fluorescence microscopy and molecular techniques.

Biography

After graduating from Lancaster University, I spent time travelling before undertaking the MSc in Medical and Molecular Microbiology at Manchester.  I then moved to The department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Sheffield and studied for a PhD in biofilm physiology.  I have also worked for the NHS and various microbiology and biotechnology companies.  I joined Andrew McBain's group in May 2010, where I am involved in research in oral microbiology.
